Most presentation programs are working slide-based or with a fixed schedule. E.g. Microsoft Powerpoint plays one slide after the other and starts again with slide one after having reached the end. This is almost a rule for most similar programs - even Flash uses a timeline (unless you do some coding)
This solution has 2 fundamental disadvantages:
1. If you want to change one single content in your schedule, you will need to open your file and change the whole file and afterwards you need to update your file. This is eating up your resources - time, manpower - and often leads to outdated contents - for example if the only person that knows how to change your schedule and contents is sick or on vacation.
2. Your schedule is fixed and not flexible. If you want to show different contents at different times or days, you will need e.g. different Powerpoint presentations and need to start them manually at the right time - a considerable risk, which leads to wrong contents at the wrong time and may even lead to false information or may look ridiculous in the eye of the viewer. In the end you have not only failed with your advertisement intention - you may even have achieved the opposite.

For miX-L we have chosen a new, innovative way: you choose single contents (e.g. a slideshow, a movie or a ticker) and tell our software which content you want to play when and how often (/h) - the rest is done by miX-L. This leads to some substantial advantages and make your system more reliable, more flexible, more successfull:
small logo Automatic combination of single contents to a schedule - your program can be changed extremely fast and easily - "live on air" if you wish
small logo Displaying contents by time - your program is shown flexible, automatic and reliable
small logo Displaying contents by date - you can program your schedule for days, weeks, even years up-front and therefore it is always up to date. Outdated contents are history - an advertisement for an event at June, 20th will not play on 21st anymore!
small logo Play contents at an exact time- your content is shown at the correct time, at exactly the second that you wanted it to start
How does this affect your way of advertising? Some examples:
- A bar / restaurant can focus on different menus - depending on the time of the day
- Expensive events or events, that are to come soon, can be advertised for more often than those, that won't take place before the next months
- X-rated contents can be shown automatically after midnight e.g.
- A convention schedule or a list of appointments shows only those elements that are in the future, not those that have already happened in the morning.
- Contents and therefore a campaign can show "NOW" or "THIS HOUR ONLY" and advertise for special actions just in time, for example "Now every beer for the half price".
- The possibilities are huge. miX-L supports you at optimizing your schedule and TV program and gives you an all-new feeling of control and reliability.
