Memedia’s digital signage software „miX-L“ now integrates SMIL players into it’s content management system. SMIL players are integrated just like the miX-L Windows players and are virtually the same to handle. The same contents can be pushed to Windows and SMIL players in the same user interface, even most scaling and timetable features are supported.
While miX-L supports SMIL in general, it also supports specific devices with a limited subset of SMIL 2 or SMIL 3 and limited content formats. The first supported device is the IAdea XDS-104 (SMIL-Signboard 10). Others will follow soon.
With SMIL support miX-L extends it’s capabilities to the lowcost side of the market, allowing simple and cheap digital signage in combination with large networks and highly interactive applications.
